World Hearing Day in Hospital Tuanku Jaafar

World Hearing Day is celebrated on 3rd March every year in order to give hearing awareness in our community. According to research conducted by Health
Ministry Malaysia among Malaysian there are 25% of elderly aged between 65-75 years old currently have hearing loss and only 10% of them seek the proper management for the hearing problem.

World Hearing Day 2022 use "To Hear For Life, Listen With Care" as the themes for this year in making sure the community have proper understanding regarding how important our hearing in daily life.


During the ceremony, head audiologist of Hospital Tuanku Jaafar shared valuable moments with the audience regarding her experience in cochlear implants. She explain on importance of ear;y detection hearing loss in children to make sure they manage to catch up with the proper milestones.

Our Mimitakara Team also was invited to share our knowledge to the audience regarding Tele-Audiology which is one added services that can be provided to the hearing aids users in making sure they can receive the audiologist service no matter where they are.

During the sharing session, we manage to explain on the importance of tele-audiology especially for the users that live in the rural areas. Some of the elderly they found that it will troublesome to attend for the appointment each time they want to adjust the hearing aids. With Tele-Audiology the problems can be solved even when they are at home.

We would like to thank Hospital Tuanku Jaafar for such wonderful event. The event was attended by Hospital's specialists and audiologists. We hope to bring more awareness in the community and can join the next collaboration with Hospital Tuanku Jaafar.
